Fasting Glucose / Sugar levels play an important role to assess the Pre-diabetic or Diabetic status of an individual. This test is useful to monitor the effect of diabetes medications; identify blood sugar levels that are high or low; track your progress in reaching your overall treatment goals; learn how diet and exercise affect blood sugar levels; understand how other factors, such as illness or stress affect blood sugar levels.

This measures your blood sugar after an overnight fast (not eating). A fasting blood sugar level of 99 mg/dL or lower is normal, 100 to 125 mg/dL indicates you have prediabetes, and 126 mg/dL or higher indicates you have diabetes.
